Covid-19 and domestic workers: 'My pay has been cut in half'

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ OS

Available for over a year

The coronavirus pandemic has had a particularly severe impact on domestic workers around the world. Many of them have lost their livelihoods and are in a vulnerable situation, often in a foreign country, with no social support. ‘Sandra' (not her real name) is from Kenya, but and works as a maid in the Lebanese capital Beirut. She tells us that the pressures of the economic crisis in the country, coupled with coronavirus, means she's now being paid half as much as she was before.
