White supremacy was one of the main topics in the recent presidential debate with President Trump appearing reluctant to condemn it. Charlottesville became a symbol of racial tensions when a rally by hundreds of white nationalists in 2017 descended into violence between them and counter-protesters. Two people from there - Deacon Don Gathers and Zyahna Bryant, a student activist at the University of Virginia - discuss how they feel white supremacists feel emboldened in their city and how current tensions play into the current political landscape.
