Indian village teacher wins $1m prize

A teacher in a village school in India has won this year’s Global Teacher Prize. Ranjitsinh Disale teaches at the Zilla Parishad Primary School in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. He was praised by judges for his work improving education for disadvantaged girls. He decided to give away half of his $1m prize to runners-up in the competition. Mr Disale gave ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ OS his reaction to winning.
