Joseph Gray: The black American forging a mountain running pathway

Sport Today

Available for over a year

Joseph Grey is the reigning world Mountain Running champion, a title he first won in 2016. But before he could show he was the best in the world, he had to become the first Black American to win the US Championships and the first Black American to qualify for Team USA's Mountain Running Team.   People now look to Joseph as someone who's shown there's a pathway that may not have seemed an option before he came along. He told Sport Today’s Ed Harry about who inspired him growing up. Photo: Joseph Gray on a training run (Credit: Joseph Gray)
