Sport Today

Available for over a year

Stephanie Travers, the first black woman to stand on an F1 podium, discusses her journey from Harare, Zimbabwe, to becoming a fluid engineer for Petronas and working alongside seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton and the Mercedes team. Hamilton, and his team-mate Valtteri Bottas, were alongside Travers on the Styrian Grand Prix podium as she collected the constructor’s trophy on behalf of Mercedes. Following the race, the then six-time world champion took to Instagram to post about Travers and what a defining moment this was in the sport and how she is an inspiration to others.
