James Ward Usher was a jeweller and businessman from Lincoln. Described as the Alan Sugar of his day, he clinched sole rights to use the image of the Lincoln Imp. It made him rich and the made the Lincoln Imp famous. He's said to be the first person to install electricity in a shop in Lincoln and was one of the first to own a car in the city. When he died, he left his art and collection to the city which are now kept in the Usher Art Gallery and The Collection Museum. Charlotte Wright talks to local historians and Lincoln Imp fans about James Ward Usher's legacy.
