A diary with a difference, as Andrew talks about the importance of time off for carers

Andrew Edwards

Available for over a year

There’s a difference in this week's Dementia Diary as Andrew talks about the value of time off. He’s been on holiday in Wales for a fortnight, and hasn't seen Mum. His brother, neighbours and the professional carers have taken good care of her and all, thankfully, has been well. He was half expecting to get an emergency call after Mum had two visits from paramedics and one trip to hospital in July. It's been a difficult year in which his partner's parents have both died from Covid-19. He talks about the importance of people who care for loved ones trying, if they can, to switch off. Mum and Me: The Dementia Diary was originally broadcast on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Leeds.
