Health Visiting during COVID

Stuart George

Available for over a year

Usually with a newborn, you get checked up by a health visitor in the early days - to see if the baby and parents are doing okay. But research during COVID's found just 1 in 10 parents of under twos saw a health visitor face-to-face - lots moved to the phone or Zoom. Charities are saying this gap in face-to-face health visiting for the majority of families has left a hole in services, and added pressure to an already stretched service. As part of 'Lockdown Babies' Lee Thomas on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Stoke spoke to Alison Morton, Executive Director at the Institute of Health Visiting.
