The Ipswich Windrush Society held a reception of their time capsule room, which was installed this Summer 2021, to mark the 73rd Anniversary of the arrival of the first Windrush Generation from the Caribbean. The aim of the installation was to remember those who moved to Ipswichand Suffolk from the Caribbean islands. Max Thomas, who headed up this project, created the installation at sailmakers shopping centre in Ipswich, to replicate a typical front room of someone newly arrived from the Caribbean.  It also displayed many orders of service from those who have now passed. It has been housed for months at the shopping centre, but now is looking for a permanent home and last night was very much a plea to those in a position of power to help with quest. Cad Taylor went down to the celebration and recorded Max Thomas, Mike Sorhaindo, Angela Scrivener, Tom Hunt and Sheila Henley all reflecting on this Celebration.
