Ofcom has said that it’s going to try to tackle fraud coming through telephone calls from criminals who can make you believe they are phoning from a UK-based landline on a number that belongs to your bank, or the police, or the NHS. They call that con Number Spoofing and it plays a huge role in fraud. It sees people losing millions of pounds to criminals every year. First broadcast on You & Yours, 25 October 2021.
