Andrew Edwards

Available for over a year

Mum's back home after six nights in hospital following a recurrence of her gall bladder and liver problems. Son Andrew has an anxious few hours when her return is delayed by Covid concerns in the ward, but thankfully all is well. During her time in Hull Royal Infirmary the trust stops routine visiting because of concerns over the omicron variant. Andrew reflects on an emotionally demanding week, which also included the funeral of a colleague and the first anniversary of the death of his partner's father from Covid-19 in a care home in Leeds. He talks about the need to live in and enjoy the moment, as Mum's dementia 'journey' continues. Mum and Me: The Dementia Diary was originally broadcast on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Leeds.
