Available for over a year

Lourdes Maldonado López, a Mexican journalist, has been found shot dead outside her home in the northern border city of Tijuana. She had previously said she feared for her life, and was attacked in her car as she arrived home on Sunday. The country is said to be one of the world's most dangerous for journalists, and dozens have been killed in recent years. Ines Garcia, a journalist and co-founder of Punto Norte a digital news service, in Tijuana, says that this is the second murder in a week - a Mexican photojournalist, Margarito Martínez, was killed a few days ago, also in Tijuana, and also found shot in the head. Lourdes Maldonado López was killed outside her home, but nobody has been arrested for the killing. "To work as a journalist, we have to leave fear behind."
