Rod Liddle defends Frinton comments

Sonia Watson

Available for over a year

Columnist Rod Liddle described Frinton-on-Sea as being "full of elderly men with no teeth on mobility scooters". He says he made the comments due to "snobbery" from "middle-class council chiefs [who] aren't very keen on TOWIE". "Essex has got...a really vibrant and fun reputation" which should be embraced, says Mr Liddle. It comes as Essex County Council launches an advertising campaign for the county which aims to create distance from the ITV reality show The Only Way Is Essex.
