"No amount of compensation can bring back those 20 years of our lives."

Available for over a year

Anjana and Baljit Sethi used to run post office branches in Essex where they raised their three children - they're a Post Office family through-and-through. Sadly they were caught up in the Post Office scandal, where a flawed computer system called Horizon showed that their Brentwood branch had a hole in its accounts of £17,000. Baljit and Anjana were told to cover it out of their own pocket - they couldn't, they lost the business and went bankrupt. In 2019, the High Court slammed the Horizon system as "not remotely robust" - and it transpired that the Sethi's were one of dozens of postmasters who'd been wrongly accused of theft. A public enquiry gets underway today (14 Feb 2022) and Baljit Sethi is due to be the first witness. A Post Office spokeswoman has told the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½: "We are sincerely sorry for past failures and are taking determined action to provide redress for the people affected."
