Coventry Blitz survivor celebrates 99th birthday

CWR Breakfast with Phil Upton

Available for over a year

Mary Lock has been celebrating her 99th birthday, and has been telling ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ CWR about her life living in Coventry and Warwickshire. Mary was Coventry's first ever female fire guard, she ran two of Rugby's most popular wool shops and, in more recent times, she's raised money for the Hospital of St Cross in Rugby. When she was just 17, on 14th November 1940, her home on Three Spires Avenue was destroyed in the Coventry Blitz. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ CWR's James Aldred went to meet her to reflect on that night, and her very special birthday.
