What does the end of free Covid testing mean for care homes?

Paul Salt

Available for over a year

Charities and relatives groups say its unfair the government wants people visiting care homes in England to pay for Covid tests from April. The Relatives and Residents association says its not right to ask people to pay for tests to see their loved ones or expect financially stressed care homes to cover the cost. The Liberal Democrats have called it a tax on caring. Jonathan Cunningham chairs the North and South Sefton Care ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Group, and runs a care home in Southport.
