Twenty patients from Birmingham Children's Hospital took to the catwalk in Digbeth wearing clothes specially designed to meet their needs. The outfits have been created by students at South and City College and has seen a patient paired up with a student to create clothing to cater for each patient’s individual disability. Dr Andrea Jester, a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Birmingham's Children’s Hospital had the idea. One of the patient models taking part was 15-year-old Evie Jones, from Shrewsbury, who had to have her left foot amputated after developing sepsis. She has the challenge of finding shoes that fit her, or are comfortable enough to wear, and clothes to cover her large prosthetic.
