Residents in the central Philippines are dealing with the aftermath of Tropical Storm Megi, which swept through the country on Sunday, triggering landslides and floods. At least 28 people have died in the first such storm of the year, which hit during what used to be the dry season in the archipelago. Rescue crews are still battling to retrieve people stranded on the eastern and southern coasts. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ correspondent Howard Johnson says that it's estimated over 135,000 people have been affected and 13,000 are in shelters. He says the problems have come from "incessant rain" and landslides, with forecasts saying the rain will move on later in the week. It comes just months after Storm Rai, which hit the area in December, and many were just starting to rebuild their lives after that.
