One in three children can't swim - Swimming Teachers Association

Sonia Watson

Available for over a year

One in three children can't swim, according to the Swimming Teachers Association - and with the cost of lessons on the rise for many due to the rising costs of pool heating and chemicals, there are concerns that many young people will not learn how to swim. Although many of us swim for fun, leisure and health, it's important to remember that being able to swim is a lifesaving skill. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Essex speaks to former Olympic swimmer Mark Foster - who hails from Billericay - Jane Nickerson, the CEO of Swim England, and Vicky Malmsjo who's a swimming teacher from Witham and runs Swimspirational - she's also an ambassador for the Swimming Teachers Association.
