Towns such as Romford and Hornchurch should be covered by Essex Police, rather than the Met - according to a senior Police and Crime Commissioner. Conservative Katy Bourne, Sussex PCC and former chair of the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners, also told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ South East the Met should be downsized. Ms Bourne told the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½: "I am having conversations with Government about this, and I know my colleagues are, to say 'look at the Met, is it too big at the moment?' There are 32 policing boroughs across the Met, it's a third of all policing nationally. When the Met sneezes, we all catch a cold. They need a fundamental overhaul." ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Essex speaks to Nick Alston, the former Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex.
