Colchester teacher in coma stuck in China

Sonia Watson

Available for over a year

The family of a music teacher from Colchester say they are desperate to get him home from China, after he suffered a stroke which put him in a coma. This is the story of Patrick Sabberton, who's been teaching music in Shanghai. He suffered a stroke in January which put him into a coma. His condition is now stabilising, so his family are trying to bring him home - but his medical insurance company won't cover the costs of repatriation, which could be nearly £200,000. His family say they 'desperately miss' Patrick, and want to be there when he wakes. They're trying to fundraise the money needed to bring him home. Patrick's sister, Claire Hadley, has been telling ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Essex what Patrick is like.
