Bridgwater and Taunton Canal: fish at risk of oxygen starvation

Claire Carter on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Somerset

Available for over a year

Laura Mullholland is an ecologist from the Canal and Rivers Trust. She tells us how the dry and hot weather is causing Bridgwater and Taunton Canal to become stagnant, because it's not being replenished with fresh water. She says the stagnant water is causing a build up of algae, which can reduce the oxygen levels within the water; causing a threat to the survival of wildlife in the canal.
