The remains of Saint Bernadette have been on show at St Marie's Roman Catholic Cathedral in Sheffield and St Peter-in-Chains in Doncaster. Bernadette Soubirous was made a saint in 1933. She claimed to have seen a vision of a lady in white believed to be Mary the mother of Jesus in 1858 as she picked firewood by the river at Lourdes. Millions of pilgrims visit the site annually in France.
