Calls for a statue of Baroness May Blood to be erected at Belfast City Hall

Good Morning Ulster

Available for over a year

There was widespread sadness on Friday when news broke about the death of May Blood. She, of course, became Baroness Blood in recognition of her community work and her commitment to peace. So should a statue now be put up in Belfast to remember her? Speaking to Good Morning Ulster's Mark Simpson, Alliance Party Councillor Michael Long has called Baroness Blood a 'fantastic person' to be given a memorial statue, and hopes this would address the imbalance of the 'male-dominated' memorials at Belfast City Hall.
