World Cup 2022: 'We don't care if the Iran team wins or loses'

World Football

Available for over a year

Iran is playing its first match in this year's Fifa World Cup. Fans of the team in Qatar say they are there to support "real Iranian people" - not the national team. They also plan to boo their national anthem, which they say does not represent "real Iranian people." Protests in Iran are continuing, with protesters setting fire to the ancestral home of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini over the weekend. World Football speaks to some of those football supporters in Qatar about the anti-government protests back home. (Photo: Iran's football team in training. Credit: Getty Images)
