The Emergency Department at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children was late last night described as "extremely busy" - this comes after a growing number of children attended the E.D. with symptoms of bacterial and viral infections over the last few days. It comes after five-year-old Stella-Lily McCorkindale from Belfast died from an illness linked to strep A on Monday and a four year old in the Republic has died from the infection.
