Harborough writer Sam Parr spent years writing but hated sharing it with other people because of his shyness. With encouragement from his partner, he entered a short story he wrote during the covid pandemic into a competition in the United States, and won the quarterly heats. Now he is being flown to Hollywood for the final and has a chance of winning the big annual prize. He explains to Ady Dayman of his shock at doing so well.
