'This is the saddest situation I've ever been in as a Headteacher'

Ady Dayman

Available for over a year

A Leicester Primary School has opened up its doors to parents and kids to keep them warm as some make the impossible decision whether to heat their homes or to eat. Braunstone Community Primary is offering the service after-school, providing families with food and somewhere to charge up their devices. The Headteacher Halil Tamgumus made the decision after hearing the personal accounts of those who are really struggling to make ends meet during the current cost of living crisis. He explains to Jo Bostock why he wanted to do this.
