Cornwall Wildlife Trust is considering downgrading brown crab in its annual winter seafood ratings review from 3 to 4 (with 1 being the most sustainable and five the least sustainable rating). A rating of 4 would means pot-caught brown crab would no longer be on the Cornwall Good Seafood Guide recommended list. It's all because of concerns about overfishing. There's a public consultation underway. Matt Slater, Marine Conservation Officer at Cornwall Wildlife Trust, has been explaining the latest to Julie Skentelbery.
