Dissident republican group warns PSNI families are targets: A retired officer speaks out

Good Morning Ulster

Available for over a year

A recently retired woman PSNI officer, who served in the force for 18 years, has told us that a threat by a small dissident republican group to the relatives of police officers in Northern Ireland will create fear especially in younger officers who didn't serve during the Troubles. The group - Arm na Poblachta - has warned that the relatives of those serving are considered targets. The PSNI said the threat was being taken seriously AND in an internal message advised staff to take "reasonable" security steps. Linzi McLaren spoke to Good Morning Ulster and warned this threat could be a factor in young officers deciding to leave the PSNI.
