'Five Films for Freedom' has received international acclaim, director Terry Loane and star Daniel Willis speak to GMU

Northern Ireland is still basking in the glory of An Irish Goodbye winning best live action short films at the Oscars. Now another locally produced short has been selected for 'Five Films for Freedom', an international, online short film programme in support of LGBTQIA+ rights and so far has received international acclaim. The film tells the story of a straight forward family whose life takes a sudden turn when their son Johnny announces he wants to wear a dress for his First Communion The short film 'Just Johnny' is directed by Belfast-based, award winning film director Terry Loane and written by former Hollyoaks actor and writer Gerard McCarthy. It stars Derry Girls' Tara Lynn O'Neill, Martin McCann and Roisín Gallagher alongside newcomer Daniel Willis in the role of Johnny. Daniel and Terry joined Good Morning Ulster to discuss the new project.
