23-year-old Newry footballer recovering from brain tumour hoping to inspire others

Good Morning Ulster

Available for over a year

Sudden illness is a shock to anyone, but especially when you're a young professional footballer, seemingly with the world at your feet. Ross Larkin, a defender at Linfield, who also played for the Northern Ireland under-21 team found out that he had a brain tumour just over a year ago. To protect his privacy, the club said very little about why he wasn't playing any more. But now the 23-year-old from Newry wants to tell his story, to encourage anyone else going through sudden illness to try to stay positive. Ross has been speaking to Mark Simpson.
