Padel is a racket sport that originated in Mexico in 1969. It's an exciting hybrid of tennis and squash. The court has walls and the balls can be played off them in a similar way to squash. There's no traditional racket - you play with a stringless bat. The British Paddle Association was formed by a group of passionate British expats seeking to compete in the 1992 World Paddle Championships and now the sport is growing fast in the UK with nearly 100 Padel courts and more than 40 clubs. Paul Leather went to Plymouth Marjon University to have a go on their brand new courts. More at padeluniteduk.com
