World Business Report

Available for over a year

The biggest ruby ever to come to auction has been sold in New York for a record sum of $34.8m. The "Estrela de Fura” or "Star of Fura," named after the company that mined the stone, was a staggering 101 carats when it was pulled from a mine last year in a mine in Mozambique. Sotheby's jewellery specialist Sophie Stevens was in New York for the auction, and explains to the ѿý's Will Bain why there is so much potential in Mozambique gem mines.
