Windrush 75: Horace Barnes

Available for over a year

We're marking the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Empire Windrush. The ship brought the first Caribbean migrants to the UK - answering Britain's call for post-war workers to help rebuild the country after the Second World War. Passenger 680 was Lloyd Hylton, who came to call Birmingham his new home. He passed away in 2007. His nephew Horace Barnes, who runs an organisation which teaches about the importance of the Windrush Generation
