Grays Athletic FC stadium move approved

Sonia Watson

Available for over a year

Grays Athletic vice chair, Gavin Holland, and Cathy Sisterson, founder of the Aveley Green Belt Action Group, speak to Ian Wyatt. Plans have been approved for a development on green belt land which includes Grays moving into the disused Ship Lane Stadium in Aveley. The move depends on a car dealer building an inspection centre with a 1,200 space car park at the site. The development was approved against the advice of planning officers and is therefore subject to further approval. Grays have been without a permanent stadium for 13 years.
