Despite the challenges of training a young cat to use a litter tray, Rhiannon finds herself falling in love with Mackerel so when the kitten has an accident it's a worrying time. And alongside cat ownership in the present, Rhiannon also thinks of her childhood with her brother, who she is now not allowed to visit in his care home, and questions whether she will ever feel able to bring a baby into this world. This moving memoir explores overcoming trauma, surviving violence, finding love and building a new life, set against the backdrop of the Covid pandemic.
