Palak Muchhal pays tribute to Lata Mangeshkar at the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Proms

The Arts Hour

Available for over a year

The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Proms have begun, promising an incredible eight-week season of daily concerts of mostly classical and orchestral music at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Prom 18 is dedicated entirely to the legendary Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar, whose songs captivated generations of Indian cinemagoers. Lata Mangeshkar was a singer and Bollywood playback singer who died last year at the age of 92. To celebrate her legacy Palak Muchhal brings her interpretations of Lata-ji's songs along with the City of Birmingham's Symphony Orchestra. "If music had a synonym it would be Lata Mangeshkar-ji for me...I have studied every song sung by Lata-ji" says Palak, adding "I literally worship Lata-ji." "I have tried to include as many flavours of Lata-ji's renditions in my set list" says Palak. (Photo: Palak Muchhal attends Arpita Khan and Aayush Sharma’s Eid bash.
