Is it safe to swim in the River Dee?

Available for over a year

Just 14 per cent of the country’s rivers are classed as healthy – but in this region we have some of the dirtiest in the country. Pollution from sewage, farming and industry is all taking its toll and it’s affecting the region’s wildlife. Now an ever growing number of local campaign groups are being formed to raise awareness of the problem, and want our rivers better protected. Barry Johnson - Campaigner and wild swimmer, Jazmin Seddon - open water swimmer and Steve Wilson - Managing Director of wastewater service at Welsh Water give their views.
