Ady DaymanAvailable for over a year
A huge expansion of the use of robotic operating kit is taking place at Leicester's hospitals following a one and a half million pound grant to fund the technology. The equipment was funded by a donation from the Samworth Family Foundation which is paying for technology at the General and LRI hospitals. It's hoped the use of such operating kit will speed up patients' recovery. 50-year-old Christopher Elton is recovering after having surgery using the robot to remove part of his kidney after a cancer diagnosis. Ahead of his op Christopher told us how he felt - and Mike Norwood, Consultant in Colorectal Surgery at Leicester's Hospitals, explains to Ad Dayman how the robotic systems are making a huge difference.
