Reading is the hub of a new UK drone "superhighway"

Available for over a year

Imagine a corridor in the sky that stretched north from Reading into the Midlands. You can't see it, but some of it is there already. This is a new concept: a route for pilotless drones which relies on a line of beacon masts which communicate with the aircraft to keep them safe and keep them apart. It could initially be used to transport medical samples. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ South's transport correspondent Paul Clifton explains. Read more about this story on the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ News app.
