The leading disability charity, Sense say the care crisis is at a “cliff edge” as a shortage of skilled workers is putting lives at risk. Wiltshire has some of the country’s worst staff shortages - leaving one mother from Devizes covering 144 hours of care a week. The NHS says: “Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board is working in partnership with local authorities, health and social care organisations across our area to recruit new carers into the profession and to strengthen the skills of our existing workforce to deliver high quality care for everyone who needs it.   We also provide information and support to help recipients, their carers and families manage their Personal Health Budgets to ensure the best outcomes.”
