Tim McGarry, a six foot four comedian, joins vertically challenged Orangeman and historian, Dr David Hume, to look at a number of fascinating historical incidents and people in Irish history. The unlikely duo investigates well known historical events from different perspectives, to give the listener the long and the short of it. In this fourth episode in the eighth series, they dissect the 1916 Easter Rising and its impact on the future of Irish history. They examine the evidence of the uprising with historians Professor Richard Grayson and Professor Marie Coleman, as well as visiting the Áras Uí Chonghaile James Connolly Centre in West Belfast to understand the city’s connection to the conflict.
