The Post Office scandal in Wallasey

Available for over a year

The ITV drama Mr Bates v The Post Office told how around 700 Post Office sub-post masters and mistresses were wrongly convicted of theft, false accounting and fraud due to malfunctions of the Horizon computer system. The political ramifications have resulted in the Justice Secretary, Alex Chalk, meeting his Post Office counterpart, Kevin Hollinrake, as pressure grows on the government to do more to help those affected. Pete Murray is from Wallasey and tells his story. Photo: Getty.
