Finham's wet wipe mountain

Available for over a year

Have you ever wondered what happens to your waste once you pour it down the sink or flush it down the toilet? For many of us, it will end up at Severn Trent's sewage treatment works in Finham. Unfortunately, items that shouldn't be disposed of—like fat, oil, and hundreds of wet wipes—are being disposed of through the sewer system on a daily basis. This may result in serious problems including obstructions, which may eventually cause flooding. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ CWR's Richard Williams spent the day at the centre, finding out how the system works and the issues bad or incorrect disposal of waste can cause.
