'It broke what was thought humanly possible'

Available for over a year

It's coming up to 70 years since Sir Roger Bannister became the first athlete to run a mile in less than four minutes. It took place at the Iffley Road track at Oxford University on the 6th of May 1954... To mark this historic achievement... a mass running even is being planned at the very track Sir Roger broke the record. Thomas Renshaw is the co-director of Bannister Miles and Oxford University Cross Country Club and spoke to Alice Hopkins about the anniversary event Image Credit: PA
