Celebrating Eid in Christchurch Park

Available for over a year

Eid al-Fitr is a Muslim celebration which marks the end of Ramadan. Eid celebrations are traditionally held outside in community spaces but until now Ipswich’s Muslims have celebrated the festival in mosques in the town. This year, for the first time, the celebration has been held outside in Christchurch Park and Darren Rozier went along to speak to Imam Masum Shaheed and Motim Khan, a member of Eid In The Park Select Committee, and a little more about what the celebrations consist of.
