Why a Berkshire road has been nicknamed "Sewage Street"

Available for over a year

A makeshift sign hangs in Hampstead Norreys - it reads "Sewage Street". People in the village have complained of playing "Russian poolette" as sewage runs through the streets. Residents speak about the disgusting sight of loo paper and raw sewage running out of Thames Water drains in the middle of the road. Thames Water said it has plans to upgrade local treatment works in the area. West Berkshire Council said it will work with Thames Water to explore what can be done. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Berkshire's Alex Meakin reports. For more on this story, check the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ News app.
