Liverpool piper walks in D-Day footsteps

Available for over a year

A Liverpool student will be playing the bagpipes in Normandy and retracing the steps of World War II piper Bill Millin. 2024 marks eighty years since the D-Day landings, the day that thousands of troops stormed the beaches of Normandy, leading to a major turning point in the war. The 80th anniversary of this historic moment will be remembered with ceremonies across the UK and France.  Alex Smith, who is a member of the 103 Regiment RA Pipes & Drums, has the honour of playing the bagpipes.
