The festival fighting cancer with heavy metal

After his 10-year-old brother died, Tom Newton threw a rock gig with his friends in a Blandford pub, raising £400 for a cancer charity. 13 years later, the Teddy Rocks Festival and its volunteers have cumulatively raised over half a million pounds for charities who help children with cancer. The weekend is entirely run on volunteers, with many of the vendors charging for their services at-cost. The 2024 edition sees a wide variety of performers - everything from an AC/DC tribute band and Atomic Kitten, to 'Barrioke' with EastEnders' Shaun Williamson and a DJ set from Dick & Dom. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Solent's Harry Kille-Smith went to meet Tom on site at Charisworth Farm, Blandford, to see the preparations ahead of the weekend.
